Flea and Tick Preventative
All
pets in our rescue are on Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Preventative.
Unless there is a medical reason, such as a young puppy, each pet will
be provided some protection from these parasites.
Although each
pet is currently on Frontline Plus, and will be bathed and groomed prior
to leaving, we will stop at rest areas in North Carolina, Virginia, and
Pennsylvania. Each stop will be an opportunity to pick up "unwanted"
travelers (fleas and ticks). Due to that fact, we strongly suggest that
you bathe your new pet immediately. We recommend Zodiac Flea and Tick
Shampoo for Puppies, as this seems to kill fleas and ticks on contact.
We use wire crates for transporting our pets. Each crate is collapsible, easy to clean, and capable of being secured to the motorhome during the transport. We purchased our crates at Tractor Supply. The really nice thing about these crates is that they generally come with an adjustable panel to size a crate for each dog.
